The problems with Groundhogs

Groundhogs are a nuisance when it comes to destroying gardens and digging holes in yards. Groundhogs/woodchucks are known to be agriculture pest, since they eat crop.Livestock are in  danger of breaking legs by stepping in the holes that groundhogs have dug.   They also carry rabies.

Groundhog/WoodChuck (Marmota Monax): Groundhogs are herbivores.  This mammal’s diet consists of grasses, weeds, clovers, berries, cabbage, lettuce, beans, peas, carrots, alfalfa, soybeans, and phlox. They will climb trees to take fruits such as cherries, apples, and pears.  Groundhogs are most active in the early morning and evening hours.  On average they weigh 5-12 lbs. and are 20-27 inches long.  They create dens under residence, buildings, businesses and also weakened levee structures.
